FOR THE FUTURE: Fahmi says it has been a challenge competing against so many experienced riders who are more familiar with the track but he is satisfied with his overall performance.
Speaking at the race, Fernandes said, “It has been a fantastic weekend here at Silverstone and a great start to our three-year sponsorship of the MotoGP.
British people have really embraced AirAsia and our presence here this weekend has been a great opportunity to spread the word even further about low-cost travel throughout Asia and Australia.” Fernandes said sponsoring the British MotoGP was part of AirAsia’s long term strategy to build global brand awareness.
In particular, Fernandes was rooting for 19-year-old Malaysian homegrown talent Zulfahmi, of team AirAsia Sepang International Circuit who finished just short of the four final laps following an engine failure in his debut performance in the 125cc category.
Zulfahmi said, “Overall I am pleased with my performance. It has been a challenge competing against so many experienced riders who are more familiar with the track. Even with a disappointing engine failure during the race, my lap time has improved and I look forward to coming back again next year.”

GREAT START: Fernandes says it has been a fantastic weekend at Silverstone and a great start to AirAsia’s three-year sponsorship of the Moto GP.
