.my Domain Registry hits 100,000 milestone

KUALA LUMPUR: .my Domain Registry, the sole registrar and administrator for the ".my" domain announced that it has reached a milestone of 100,000 .my domain names registered by businesses and individuals.

"We are proud to have achieved this and it gives us further impetus to enhance and expand our efforts," said .my Domain Registry director Shariya Haniz Zulkifli in a statement.

The organisation said it has a broad range of initiatives that are aimed at boosting the use of .my domain names, and is confident that more people will adopt .my domain addresses.

For example, the agency is currently offering a 50% discount for all new registration and renewal fees for .my domain names. For renewals, the fee reduction is applicable for a renewal period of one year.

The promotional campaign runs until June 30 and is expected to broaden the adoption of .my domain names, which provides local businesses and individuals a unique brand identity on the Internet.

Shariya said that a .my domain name allows businesses and individuals to bear their Malaysian origins and identity online, as well as secure their Malaysian domain names and protect their identities.
