NAZA World Bike Sdn Bhd is aiming for RM40 million turnover this year in view of the increasing demand for branded motorcycles, Naza Group of Companies executive vice president (operation) Datuk SM Zulkifli SM Amin said today.

He said the company planned to introduce another five new models comprising well-known brands like Piaggio, Vespa and Aprilia to the market.

"The local motorbike industry is growing beyond our expectation, driven by leisure motor sport tourism in the country," he told reporters after launching Ducati's latest edition, the Multistrada 1200, in Kuala Lumpur.

Zulkifli said the company expected to sell 60 units of Multistrada with a price tag of between RM120,000 and RM139,000 this year.

He also said that Naza group would implement various creative advertising and promotion activities to achieve the objective.

"We had totally sold out over 78 units of Ducati models so far," he said, adding the model has experienced brisk sales so far, making Malaysia as the second high growth country in terms of sales in the region.

The 189-kg Multistrada is offered with optional anti-lock braking system and electronic suspension.

Its design makes instant adjustment to power and torque delivery in addition to the electronic adjustments of suspension settings and traction control to transform the bike to meet the rider's needs.

A sport or touring edition is also available complete with side luggage, heated grips and centre stand. -- BERNAMA
