PM announces Cabinet reshuffle

IN A reshuffle today, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak has announced several changes in Cabinet positions. The new appointments will take effect starting June 4, 2010.

Twelve portfolios changed hands:

1. Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha is the new Transport Minister, replacing Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat;

2. Datuk Wira Chor Chee Heung is the new Housing and Local Govt Minister;

3. Datuk Hajah Rohani binti Abdul Karim is the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operative And Consumerism;

4. Tuan Jelaing anak Mersat the new Deputy Transport Minister;

5. Datuk Lee Chee Leong is the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs;

6. Senator Heng Seai Kie is the Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister;

7. Datuk G. Palanivel is the Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister;

8. Datuk Richard Riot is Deputy Foreign Minister;

9. Chua Tee Yong appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries;

10. Senator Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai appointed Deputy Finance Minister;

11. Senator Datuk Maglin Dennis D'Cruz is Deputy Information Minister;

12. Gan Ping Sieu appointed Deputy Youth and Sports Minister.
