Petra Perdana appeals against decision

Petra Perdana Bhd has appealed against the High Court’s decision earlier this week to defer the tabling of resolutions for the re-election and election of board members in the oil and gas support services company.

It told the exchange yesterday that it had filed the appeal last Wednesday. At the firm’s AGM last Monday, five out of the 11 resolutions tabled were deferred to a later date for shareholders’ consideration following a court ruling on that same day.

The High Court had ordered that resolutions on the re-election of four directors — Surya Hidayat Abd Malik, Shamsul Saad, Raja Anuar Raja Abu Hassan and Idris Zaidel, and nomination of Lembaga Tabung Haji’s Hamdan Rasid into the board of Petra Perdana, to be tabled at a separate AGM on July 20.

The upcoming shareholders’ meeting was to also deliberate on resolutions for the election of four board members in Petra Perdana, namely, Datuk Syed Norulzaman Syed Kamarulzaman, John Pang Yun Nian, Suhaimi Badrul Jamil and Datuk Shaik Sulaiman S Mohamed Ismail.
