Pos Malaysia is tackling its staffing costs by going state-of-the-art automation, assuring the national postal service an annual saving of RM8mil.
In a statement, the company said the switch to greater automation would not force worker lay-offs.
"Instead, workers gain better skills, thanks to Pos Malaysia’s showpiece National Mailing and Parcel Hub in Shah Alam, scheduled to be fully operational in October with the ability to process up to 4.6 million mail daily although it is averaging 3.6 million now or one billion annually," it said.
