ASTRO radio may go international

MIRI (Aug 19): Astro Radio is mulling the possibility of expanding it coverage in the Asean countries — particularly in Kalimantan, Indonesia and Brunei, to further enhance its presence in the global broadcasting industry.

Sarawak Astro Radio Content Manager Syazleey Zalysam, or better known as DJ Uno, said at the moment, it was in the midst of strengthening the market in East Malaysia, after expanding its coverage to Miri City in Sarawak.

"We are looking maybe to expand to Sibu, Sarawak, after this, but after a thorough market study," he told reporters when announcing the expansion of Era FM, Hitz FM and MY FM, here today.

For Sabah, he said, Astro Radio had started operation in Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan.

The official launching of the Astro Radio expansion in Sarawak will be at a local hotel here this Saturday.
