Axiata Group Bhd, a Malaysian mobile phone operator, rose to a 22-month high in Kuala Lumpur trading after its Indonesian unit reported a 87 per cent jump in net income in the first half.
The stock climbed 3.3 per cent to RM4.38 at 9:27 a.m. local time, set for its highest close since September 19, 2008.
HwangDBS Vickers Research Sdn Bhd said in a report today the earnings by PT XL Axiata exceeded consensus estimates. -- Bloomberg
