ECM Libra Investment Bank launches StockQuest

ECM Libra Investment Bank is pleased to announce the launch of its first virtual stock trading challenge game, StockQuest@ecmmoney.com, for young and aspiring investors. This virtual challenge, developed by ChartNexus with the support of The Star Online, is a fun and rewarding real-time trading experience without the monetary risks.

According to ECM Libra Investment Bank Chief Operating Officer Martin Chu, “The challenge is in line with Bursa Malaysia’s effort to encourage and persuade more of the younger generation to participate in the local stock market.

"StockQuest@ecmmoney.com will provide a platform for young, aspiring investors to learn about the intricacies of the stock market and help develop their talent for investing. The key advantage is that it helps participants gain valuable knowledge, experience and confidence before they tackle actual online investing.”

Mr Chu said there were many potential young investors interested in the field, but who lacked the experience or confidence to take the plunge into actual trading.

"Given the current economic environment, they are even more hesitant; therefore, StockQuest@ecmmoney.com provides young novice investors with the tools to help them learn and experience online trading, and gain confidence without placing their finances at risk. More sophisticated investors may learn more about StockQuest@ecmmoney.com through a challenging and competitive simulation exercise that will sharpen their investing skills," he added.

Participants can take part in the challenge, trade stocks and track their investments through StockQuest@ecmmoney.com during official trading hours. Each participant will have an opportunity to trade with a virtual sum of RM100,000.

Winners will be selected based on profits they generate during the challenge period, with a cash prize of RM10,000 as the first prize. The challenge will run from Sept 20 to Oct 22, 2010.

Registration for the challenge starts today with registered participants entitled to free workshops by ChartNexus to be held over the weeks.
