SIME: Forensic probe result by end-Sept

Sime Darby Bhd informed today the result of its forensic investigations is expected to be announced by the end of September 2010.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the conglomerate also said that its fourth-quarter results would be announced on August 26, 2010.

"Until then, we cannot comment on the results of the group except that we expect the company to report a profit for the year ended June 30, 2010, based on its best estimates," it said in reference to various newspaper articles speculating on the results. -- BERNAMA
